Community Clothes Closet + Food Pantry
Providing clothing and food to our neighbors in need
The Mount Horeb Community Clothes Closet (now Neighbors Helping Neighbors) was founded by Life Church in 1997 and serves to provide clothing and bedding to our neighbors in need. It is open to all without regard to age, race, gender or creed. More than 2,500 families come through our doors every year!

How you can help:
Become a volunteer
Each of the churches involved take turns staffing open hours, and we also enlist section leaders who straighten out various areas during closed hours. Our volunteers range from children of adult volunteers, high school students seeking Silver Cord hours, working adults and retirees. They have in common a strong motivation to help others.
Donate clothing
We serve women, men, and children, and accept new and gently used clothing for all ages and sizes. You can donate clothes during open hours at the Community Clothes Closet or at the donation box at Life Church

Food Pantry
Donate to the Food Pantry
There is a collection basket located in the Life Church cafe for all non-perishable food and personal care items that you would like to donate to our local food pantries. Please feel free to involve the whole family in bringing in items to give. What a wonderful teaching tool to introduce giving to our children.
Volunteer at the Food Pantry
Life Church is responsible to provide staff for the first Monday of each month and then the following Saturday. Individuals or families can help. Put groceries away and fill grocery sacks. Sheila Williams will be present at each date to instruct and help. We have sign-up available in the cafe to volunteer your time as part of our church team that works at the local food pantry. We would love to have your help!
